What is different this year
Surrey says that from September 2026, community and voluntary controlled schools have a two-week autumn half term. That is why the October break runs from 19 to 30 October.
To make up for it, five days are taken from the summer holiday in July 2027, which is why the summer term runs to 28 July. Surrey says the school year still has 195 days, including 5 INSET days.
This is for one year. Surrey's page says that from September 2027 these schools go back to a one-week autumn half term.

INSET (teacher training) days are set by each school. They are not shown in the county dates. Your school's website or newsletter is the place to find them.
